Shipping from Dallas-Fort Worth: what the location gives you

Freight reaches Dallas-Fort Worth by air, rail and road. DFW Airport has 19 cargo airlines running freighter service, plus nonstop flights to 193 domestic and 78 international destinations. On the ground, I-20, I-30, I-35 and I-45 all cross North Texas, and four intermodal rail terminals serve the region: BNSF near Alliance Airport, CPKC in Wylie, and Union Pacific in Mesquite and southern Dallas County.

At Alliance in north Fort Worth, BNSF’s intermodal facility processes more than one million container lifts a year. In South Dallas, the International Inland Port of Dallas covers 7,500 acres around Union Pacific’s South Dallas intermodal terminal, with warehouses for Amazon, Home Depot, Walmart and others.

If your orders mostly leave the state, check which city your warehouse is in: Fort Worth’s Freeport Tax Exemption takes local property tax off qualifying inventory shipped out of state within 175 days. The local customer base keeps growing too: the metro had an estimated 8,477,157 people in 2025, 123,557 more than a year earlier, after growth of about 11% since 2020, faster than any other top-five US metro.

Next to Houston, which has the container port, DFW is the inland pick for goods that come in by rail or truck. Across Texas, it is the largest market: the fourth-largest metro in the country and home to more than one in four Texans.

What to ask before you sign with a Dallas-Fort Worth 3PL

  1. Can I tour the exact building my stock would live in before signing?
  2. How many orders a month do I need before your quoted or published rates apply?
  3. Is any of your DFW space climate controlled, and which building is it in?
  4. What is the cutoff for same-day dispatch, and does it hold through Black Friday week?
  5. If my containers arrive by rail, do you collect them from the Alliance or South Dallas terminals?
  6. Which of your warehouses in other states could I add later for faster coastal delivery?

Dallas-Fort Worth 3PL FAQ

What does fulfillment cost in Dallas-Fort Worth?

Only 2 companies here post per-order fulfillment prices: Selery charges $1.90 down to $1.00 per order as monthly volume rises, and 2Fulfill charges $1.80 per order with the first item included. The other 8 send custom quotes, so give each one the same monthly orders, units per order and pallet count.

Is there a minimum order volume for DFW 3PLs?

None of the 10 publishes a minimum order count, but some set a floor another way. ShipMonk charges a monthly minimum fee based on projected orders, 2Fulfill's rate cards are subject to 5,000+ orders, and Productiv says simple pick and pack at a few hundred orders a month is not its fit. At the low end, Selery's first price tier covers brands under 5,000 orders a month.

Which DFW fulfillment companies integrate with Shopify?

9 of the 10 name a Shopify integration. Saddle Creek is the one that publishes no ecommerce platform list.

Do DFW 3PLs ship for Amazon, Walmart and TikTok Shop sellers?

Yes: 8 of the 10 list Amazon FBA prep, 5 name a Walmart integration and 3 connect to TikTok. ShipBob, ShipMonk and Flexport name integrations with all three.

Which DFW 3PLs are based locally?

3 of the 10 have their headquarters in the metro: Selery Fulfillment and Our Serviceworks in Carrollton, and 2Fulfill in Grand Prairie. Our Serviceworks and 2Fulfill run a single building each, and the other 8 companies also have warehouses outside Texas.
